Kendriya Kendriya Vidyalaya No-3, Bhubaneswar was established in 1986
Year 198. It functioned at Railway Colony High School temporarily and shifted to its permanent building to Railway Colony, Pragati Vihar (Mancheswar) Bhubaneswar in the year 2003.

A full-fledged A- 1 type permanent building was constructed at Railway Colony, Pragati Vihar (Mancheswar) Bhubaneswar over the land measuring 15 acres provided by East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar.

The school has been functioning in its permanent building since April 2003
it has got 25 class rooms, Computer, Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Maths Lab.multigym hall, Resource room, Junior Science Lab, Art & Craft Lab, Music Room Etc. Separate rooms are for Principal, Head Master & Staff Room for the teaching Staff.At present 11 staff quarters have been constructed.

The present student strength of the Vidyalaya is 1092 & the strength of the staff members stands at 43. The school provides education from class I to XII with science stream at +2 level. The school is affiliated with CBSE Board, New Delhi.
